Clarksville is a river town filled with artists and antiques, a real artist community, with three potters, jewelers, four furniture/cabinet makers, basketry, blacksmithing, boat building, three warm glass shops, and two hot glass shops.   All of this and more in a town with a population of just 490!

Clarksville has antique shops, an antique mall with 100 vendors, and three places to eat.   Bee Naturals World Headquarters is here as well as the Pinnacle, the highest point on the Mississippi river!  The skylift  which takes you to the top and on a clear day one can see for 800 miles!  Clarksville is the only city in the state that has its downtown facing the Mississippi River without a levee.

To review here are at least five reasons Clarksville is like no other place in America: 1) The Artists, 2) The Mississippi River, Clarksville is the only city in Missouri that has it's downtown facing the river without a levee with steps down so you can touch the river!, 4) The antiques 3) The eagles, there have been as many as 510 American Bald Eagles in a town of 490!, 4) The Pinnacle, the highest point on all of the Mississippi river is in Clarksville, Missouri.

We are about 70 miles from the St. Louis airport.    So, if you can, please take a little break and stop by and visit the State's best kept secret, Clarksville.  (click here to get to the City's site)
